22. Our Hosts and their family
This is a picture of Hooi San & Jee Ming (2nd & 3rd from the left and both in white) during the small and warm gathering of family and close friends. Had a really good time. Perhaps this is more meaningful as compared to a huge big wedding dinner where the hosts wouldn't get to really share the moment with every guest. :)
A different story
I was kiasu :) i arrived way earlier before the stipulated time of 7pm :) I arrived at Shang at 6pm, thanks to my brothers who said they'll be there around that time :P Anyway, I was a bit hungry so i thot i'll go over to McDs and get some nuggets and read my book. Nothing much happens and while i was eating, i just watched people pass by. I just realised that when i slow my pace down and i'm all alone, i observe a lot of interesting things. There're just so many people around us. I wonder how their life is. The arrogance of me to prejudge all of them based on my limited experience and contact with them. :) There was this one particular couple that caught my attention and i watched them for a good 5 minutes at least (happened that they stopped in front of Macs and stood there pondering if they wanna eat here).
They caught my attention because he is Malay and she is Chinese. I'm not gonna write a book about my observations. But just stop and think for a moment. Can you imagine their life? The adversities that they'll have to overcome? Maybe i'm reading too much into it. But the other thing i see is how loving they are. Wanted to take a picture, but i thot against that as i think voyeurism is not appreciated in this country.........or anywhere else. :) Finished eating and reckon that if i continue to people watch, they won't be able to differentiate me from the perverts at the next table. Took out my book and read.
