604. Election Day!

It's time for the rakyat to voice out how they feel. This time around, the internet has been a good source of publicity for the opposition which has long been without a media. It made a big difference as now the rakyat can hear what the govt is actually doing and how the opposition intends to correct things.

As a responsible citizen of Malaysia concerned with our nation's wellbeing, I'm gonna vote!

On the way to the polling station; Dinner @ Double Dragon Inn

Isaac; Dinner time

After dinner it's off to How's place to await the election results. Even during dinner, I've received rumours that DAP has a landslide victory in Penang. But while watching the idiot box, it's is confirmed that the ruling coalition this time suffered a huge defeat. Though they still form the federal govt, they've lost their 2/3 majority. They've lost 4 states (Kedah, Penang, Perak & Selangor) to the opposition and failed to win back Kelantan. So in total, 5 states are now in the hands of the opposition. This is unprecedented. Hopefully the opposition will make good use of their time in office to prove themselves. Who knows, in the next election, they may take the federal govt. Well done to the opposition. Hopefully the ruling coalition will now be humbled by the rakyat's voice.

Pak Lah announcing their defeat; Celebrating Rocket's victory!

Played my first ever mahjong game with Andrew and gang. Always thot it was too complicated, but after a few rounds, realised it's not that hard after all. Forget the counting of points and all dat is. The concept itself is rather simple. Then later in the evening, had dinner at Teluk Bahang and back to Island plaza for coffee. Andrew borrowed a familiar looking board game from the barrista. Gosh, haven't played this since I was a little boy, and I mean little!

Mahjong virgin no more!; It's been ages!

Was offered a bunch of cupcakes by Ann as a reward for opening a jar of marmalade (the lid was screwed on really tight! I had to pry it open). Was intructed specifically to offer them to my niece and nephew. So here they are enjoying the fruits of my labour.

Got myself a brand new toy courtesy of Ann. The Dell BH200 bluetooth headset. My very first AD2P bluetooth headset. I love it! it's lightweight and I can use it for my mobile phone as well as my PC. The sound quality is quite good and it's comfortable to wear. Nice!

603. Weekly Summary

Finally met up with Hui Ling after a year or so. Didn't even realise that she's now a mother! :) Will get the meet her son next month after she brings him back from Kuching.

Went to Bagan and G-Spot for a drink during the week. Can always count on having a relaxing time at Bagan. Haven't been to G-Spot before, figure I'd give it a shot. Liked the ambience a lot. This week, the have a jazz singer from UK. She's pretty good.

602. Jason & Sang Sang's Wedding

After 10 years, they're finally married! Have known this couple since college days and it's really nice to see that some stories do have happy endings!

Rushed to KL after work with Andrew to attend their wedding.

After the wedding dinner, went for the late nite screening of Vantage Point. After hearing how good the show was, I can only say that it's not too bad. I like how it tries to tell the same story from different perspectives, but the ending is rather too convenient. But then again, it's just a show. Of course everything turns out well for the hero.

Was suppose to attend church and then the Space Museum thingy in Putrajaya. But all plans were cancelled coz Sophia wasn't feeling well. She felt better by noon, so we ventured out to Sunway Pyramid for lunch. We settled on this Italian place called Michaelangelo's. I was greeted by this poster that read "FRESH oysters at ROCK bottom prices!" Only RM1.90 per piece. Even back in Penang it costs RM3.50 per piece and it's not as big even. I took about 4 pcs. The food was also surprisingly delicious.

Then walking around Sunway Pyramid, spotted a pair of Puma shoes which I've been eyeing. It was on sale, for over 60% off. @RM100, it was really a bargain.

After meeting my customer, Jeff & Andreas pick me up for lunch. We headed to Mid Valley where we met up with Jack & Ann. Lunch was Vietnamese but apart from the coffee, the food was passable. Then it's donuts at Big Apple Donuts. Not a huge donut fan, but Jeff insisted it's better than Dunkin Donuts. So we gave it a shot. I rather enjoyed my dark chocolate and glazed donut. Couldn't get to my AVP (Yes, Alien Vs Predator) donut as I was stuffed. Jeff absolutely loves their Durian Donut. Errrr, I'll pass.

Dinner was @ this seafood place in Puchong. Immediately after we got there, we noticed some people arrived with huge ass video cameras, some guy in funky clothes and spot lights. Before long, I realised that they were actually shooting us.......eating! A check with the boss reveals that they were actually shooting for a food program on NTV7. The said funkily dressed guy is the host, Jeff. Oh well, hope I looked ok, didn't put have my make up on.

After that, it's off to the airport where I bid them farewell. After reaching home, unpacking, I realised I haven't finished my Biskut Telinga which I bought on the way to KL. Ahhh, the simple pleasures in life. It was a really good trip this one. Managed to catch up with collegamates and also some long lost friends.
