632. Oh Behave!

QE2 has started a new program to win back customers. It's called Miss Behave nite, it's every friday nite 830pm to 1030pm. Free drinks for the ladies and manicure. Well, judging from the turnout and also the amt of ppl talking abt it, I think it's gonna be a hit. The male dancers takes a bit of getting used to, but it draws the ladies. So what the heck. :P Groovy baby!

631. Raine's B'day

It's Raine's b'day, but since she's on a romantic getaway with Wee, we'll have to celebrate tomorrow instead. So went out with Antz & gang in the evening for dinner.

Aloysious & his father

Woke up in the morning with a funny feeling in my tummy. Thot the usual bathroom run shud clear it. But after several toilet runs, still feel a bit uncomfortable. Feeling groogy too, but I thot dat's due to the fact dat I've been sleeping the whole day. So the solution? Sleep some more. Evening comes along and I was woken up for Raine's b'day dinner. While on the way to dinner, it's no longer discomfort, my tummy is starting to hurt. So I tough it out during dinner (though only had soup) and after heading home, took some basic medication and thot more sleep should do the trick. But alas, was I mistaken. I spent the whole nite in pain and no sleep, mom wanted to admit me to the hospital, but i figured dat's a bit dramatic, and suggested come morning, we'll go to a clinic first. If they think I shud be admitted, then I will. After seeing the doctor and taking the biggest ever (it was the size of my pinky) antibiotics, I felt slightly better. The doctor gives me 2 days MC and told me to just get plenty of rest, give the fact that I went to toilet almost 20 times (I shit u not! pun intended!), I wasn't gonna argue dat. And also I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my mom who has taken the time to care for me, the devotion and affection only a mother can give. Thanks a million.

@ dinner time, Isaac toasting Raine; Tell me dat ain't the biggest pill u've seen!

While incarcerated, I have 3 close companions, The PS3, TV and My PC. However, the papers did provide some comic relief too, esp with the current circus of a political scene in Malaysia. But this article caught my eye, it reads, "Cops: No MILF hiding in Sabah!" I mean seriously, MILF??? How do u expect people to take u seriously if you call yourself MILF? For those who don't know why MILF is such a funny acronym, nevermind, move along, nothing to see here.

My faithful companions during my "incarceration"; MILF?????

On the subject of comic relief, was in the cinema recently and the ministry of domestic trade and Consumer Affairs place an ad about how we should be smart consumers. I'm sure you've seen it too. We must compare prices before we buy, bla bla bla. really? I didn't know that? I wonder how much they spent on that (and how much they pocketted). Anyway, is the public really dat naive or is it the govt?

I worry for Malaysia when our govt has to place such ads to raise the awareness of being a "smart" consumer. Are my fellow Malaysians really dat dum..err....i mean naive or is the govt so out of touch with the grassroots to think dat we didn't know how to compare prices? Sigh, either way, we're screwed. Either the govt are run by monyets or my fellow rakyat are monyets. Hmmmm.......but from recent events, I reckon the latter is NOT true.

630. QE2 & Warwick Avenue

After a long nite at Torch with Seng, Wee and friends and very little sleep, went for breakfast @ Abu Siti Lane with my family. The Dim Sum there is pretty good. Family time is always fun, as I grow older, I cherish them more. well, better late than never eh.

Then in the evening, it's off to QE2 to meet Tsuiki and gang. They droped by for a day of golf and then back to Japan. Crazy buggers.

Warwick Avenue by Duffy. Was choosing which pix to put on the blog when I heard this song. Watch the music video here. It was very appropriate as I was picking the last 2 pix.

Warwick Avenue - Duffy

When I get to Warwick Avenue...
Meet me by the entrance of the tube.
We can talk things over, a little time...
Promise me you won't step outta line.

When I get to Warwick Avenue...
Please drop the past and be true.
Don't think we're okay, just because I'm here...
You hurt me bad, but I won't shed a tear.

I'm leaving you for the last time baby...
You think you're loving but you don't love me.
I've been confused outta’ my mind lately...
You think you're loving but I want to be free.
Baby you've hurt me.

When I get to Warwick Avenue...
We'll spend an hour, but no more than two.
Our only chance to speak, once more...
I showed you the answers, now here's the door.

When I get to Warwick Avenue...
I'll tell you baby, that we're through.

I'm leaving you for the last time baby...
You think you're loving but you don't love me.
I've been confused outta’ my mind lately...
You think you're loving but you don't love me.
I want to be free, baby you've hurt me.

All those days spent together, I wished for better,
But I didn't want the train to come.
Now it's departed,
I'm broken hearted, seems like we never started.
All the days spent together, when I wished for better,
And I didn't want the train to come

You think you're loving but you don't love me.
I want to be free, baby you've hurt me.
You don't love me,
I want to be free,
Baby you've hurt me.

Gosh, now that I'm done with Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS3, how am I gonna fill my time? Amazing game. The graphics and gameplay. It's like watching a movie with myself as the star. Time to look for new game to keep my mind occupied. When will they release the full Gran Turismo 5 game! Can't wait for that.

Oh! Happy Mooncake Festival!

629. Funeral

My dad's younger bro passed away from cancer. Went for the wake on sat morning back in our hometown. I'm not really close with this uncle, but yet, I remember last time when he was alive and well, now barely 60, he passed on. 60, I wonder what i'll achieve by 60. Oh well, Que Sera sera.

As per tradition. we had to follow the hearse around the neighborhood before proceeding to the cemetary. While going around the block, we passed a wedding ceremony, and in Chinese tradition, it's a really really bad omen to have a funeral procession pass your house on your wedding day. I feel bad for the couple. But then again, surely the marriage won't fall apart coz a hearse drove by the house right? A good excuse though. :P

Along the way, we also passed my grandma's house. The place isn't the same as I remembered it. I remember a bigger compound. We used to go there every chinese new year until grandma sold it. I remember as a kid just hanging out with our relatives and sleeping on my mom's lap listening to the adults gossip. Also how my bros and I would play with firecrackers and run around all over the house and the well in the kitchen. Watch the "adults" shoot firecrakers at each other. Gosh, Chinese New Year used to be so festive back then. My uncle would take us on his bike to the nearby school to play. Ahhhhh, the simpler times. Oh, also I remember getting drunk coz my mom accidently let me drink a whole can of gin tonic...........hmmmmm.......maybe it wasn't an accident after all. I recall how they always complain I was hyper and all, kinda like Calvin. I'd dope Calvin for some peace and quiet. :)

Funeral procession, you can see the wedding on the left of the pix

My grandma's house, good times!

628. Silent Suffering

4/9
I flew to KL for a visit to a supplier's factory. It was a very educational trip. Flying in I felt invincible, nothing really to do with the visit. Just generally feeling good about myself, maybe it's the lack of sleep, maybe it's the coffee early in the morning or maybe it's the flight. Oh well, The visit went well and despite the heavy rain and all, my spirit wasn't dampened at all.

5/9
This morning however, woke up with the feeling of impending doom. Got my work done and headed to the airport for the flight back. The flight was awesome. I've been on many flights, but this was interesting. I sat on the 2nd row and had a window seat. Looking out I could see a very cloudy, yet bright sky (hmmm, that doesn't make sense). It's really extrodinary. Grayish at the bottom and bright blue up above. Words can't do it justice, too bad I didn't have my camera with me, it's safely stowed in the overhead compartment. Darn it! Just staring out the window makes me wonder what if I had pursued my career in aviation. Sigh. would've, could've, should've.

I've always looked out the window during flights and wondered wouldn't it be nice if I could fly the plane throught those clouds. Just as I was thinking that, I could see clouds approaching from the front and we flew right into it. Woo Hoo! The plane climbed rapidly and dropped as we flew into the clouds. Awesome! On this particular flight, we flew into clouds many times. And everytime the dense clouds would cause the plane to rise and fall quickly. It would be intepreted as a very turbulent flight, but I loved it! Beautiful skies, bumpy ride, seat up front, made me feel like I'm flying the plane, what's not to like? Too beautiful a day to be down.

As we flew into Penang, the skies quickly changed. The beautiful white fluffy clouds and blue skies quickly dissolve into dark the background. Soon, there were droplets of water streaming across my window and I could barely see anything as we land. Now this is the perfect weather to be feeling down. Very suitable. The rest of the day didn't get any better. When I finally got home, there was a blackout in my neighborhood. Hmmmm, thank You God? Well, can't blame the Big Guy right?

6/9
Today weren't any better in terms of weather and mood. It rained the whole nite last nite. Stopped for a bit before it started again during lunch. It got heavier to the point that flights into Penang were cancelled. The drive to How's place for dinner will be interesting. We made it & basically stayed till the rain slowed. Just what the doctor ordered; good food, company and wine. Oh, speaking of good food, finally tried J.Co Donuts while I was in KL. Well, there's nothing fancy about the toppings, but the donuts itself was much softer and not as oily as Dunkin Donuts, but I don't think it's worth queing for 45mins to get it.

Took pix of Ian before leaving for How's place; the sumptous buka puasa spread @ How's place :)

J.Co Donuts

Feeling much better now, headed out to Sunset Bistro, then Gurney and later QE2. Just keeping myself occupied since I took Monday off, there was no hurry to get home.

8/9
On leave today & have lotsa time on my hands, so decided to do some DIY. My PS3 & the Onkyo amp gets really hot while in operation, so decided to make some fans to cool it. Got some power supply and salvaged some fan from some old PCs and put them together, Voila! Free cooling system. :) Time well spent!
