614. Narcissism
In this painting by John William Waterhouse, we see a portrait of the malignant narcissist. He is someone totally absorbed in how he looks, sounds, seems. That's all that matters to him. Nothing else gets any of his attention.
Why such a title for a blog entry you may ask. Well, I think I'm a mild hypochondriac, sometimes when I read an article on health, I'd self-diagnose & think that I have the sypmthoms of whatever illness I'm reading about. Well, so happens I'm reading this article on malignant narcissism. I mean 1 to 3 (don't ask me why such a wierd stat) out of 20 people you meet are malignant narcissists. That's a pretty high number, up to 15%, for any mental illness. It's a pretty interesting read nonetheless. I must admit, to a certain extent, I do fit the bill. :D So am I a malignant narcissist or a hypochondriac? In this case, I'd like to think I'm the latter. Here's more reading on this disorder. I have met quite a few malignant narcissists, maybe even dated one (I'm not a shrink, how the hell would I know if she was one? PS: I'd be lucky if my other dates don't think I'm one! Hehe). But heck, I think they make life more colorful.

I'm obsessed with Kashiyuka (Yuka Kashino), therefore I'm not self absorbed? errrr, right? Oh crap, did I say obsessed? errr, I mean I mildly like her. Here's their official website and you can watch them performing their 2007 hit single Polyrhythm here. Their music reminds me of Daft Punk. Very catchy and different, of course it helps that they're very attractive too.
