295. Out to chill
Decided to spend some time with my bros, but unfortunately Seng can't make it. So it's just Wee & I. As usual, end up in Soho for a quick nite. Basically just chatting about work and such.
Realised that I'm still in Malaysia. Was supposed to be out of here by end of last year. Really looking forward to the potential to be be assigned overseas. Guess that may not happen anytime soon. Darn!
Jo joined us at Soho later in the evening. As did Dave and his entourage.
The evening was mixed with light hearted chat and some deep stuff. After a few drinks, people tend to let their guards down.
We were exhanging ideas with one of the regulars (who shall remain anonymous) at Soho. Topics range from circumcision to pool techniques to being married. While we're at the topic of marriage, he made a comment about his wife. Starts off rather innocently enough about how she's forgetful and all. He commented that she's forgetful, but wastes her memory space on things that people don't want to know or petty stuff. The he jokes about how he's forgetful too. As soon as he's out of the house, he forgets that he's ever married.
It's odd, Those on the outside wants in, while those inside wants out.
Most of the people I know who are married, expresses their desire to get out. Just to be free once again. They joke about it, they talk about it, but thank goodness most dare not act on it.
The question that lingers for me is, "Do I still want in?"
"Well, Hell ya! As always, I'll follow my instincts." :)
Later in the evening, had another regular (who shall also remain anonymous) join us. Coincidently he's just had a big fight with his wife and is out to destress. We ended up having to drive him back home because he's too drunk. Once home, he's a tad reluctant to go in. Sigh. ¿cuándo él todo el extremo?
